PCR (Post Consumer Resin)

PCR, also known as Post Recycled Resin is an environmentally-friendly packaging option great for plastic tube manufacturers that want to support recycling programs to reduce the impact on landfills and maintain consumer demand. PCR materials usually consist of every-day recycled items such as aluminum, paper, plastic bottles, and cardboard boxes. PCR plastic is a readily available product and is both cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

PCR plastics are comparable in appearance and texture to the higher-end PET plastics while offering our customers an eco-friendly option for all of their sustainable plastic packaging.

Bio-Pe plastic materials are made from bio-based plastic produced from renewable resources such as plants, typically most often from sugar cane. Using bio-based PE resources Top Tubes is contributing to a lower carbon footprint compared to the traditional PE. Top Tubes is giving its customers opportunities to make a difference to improve the overall environmental performance of their sustainable packaging and plastic tubes.

Unlike traditional PE plastic, BIO-Pe plastics are recyclable but are not necessarily considered biodegradable materials. While some consumers may confuse bio-based and biodegradable plastics to be the same thing, it is not the case. Bio-based products are derived from renewable resources such as plants, corn, potatoes and even vegetable oils and often times are not compostable, but this is not always the case. There are bio-based plastics that are both bio-based and biodegradable, while others are not.
